Richard Mofe-Damijo RMD is a well-known Nigerian actor, started his career in Nollywood in the late 1990s, and was a former Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism.

Richard Mofe-Damijo was born on July 6, 1961, in the Aladja Community of the Udu Kingdom, Delta State. Growing up in his native diplômé, he attended Midwest College in Warri and then graduated from Anglican High School, where he was a member of the Drama Club.

After high school, RMD enrolled in admission to the University of Benin to study theater arts. He received his law degree from the University of Lagos in 1997 and then graduated in 2004.

RMD ran between his studies and his acting career. While graduating law from 1997 to 1999, he was featured as a leading actor in films such as Taoci, Scores to Settle, Diamond Ring, Freedom and Out of Bounds, the first film he wrote and produced.

Meanwhile, he appeared on the television soap opera Ripples in the late 1980s and, as a journalist, had a season with Metro Magazines and Concord Newspapers. He starred in thirteen films in 2003 alone, including Romantic Attraction, along with stars Chioma Chukwuk, Stella Damasus-Aboderin, and Zack Orji.

The following year saw Richard Mofe-Damia as the lead actor in 18 films, including I Want Your Wife; Deadly Desire and Critical Recognition: A Pan-African Action Movie. In the first edition of the 2005 African Film Academy Awards, Richard Mofe-Damijo was awarded for Best Supporting Actor. Dressage won the Special Recognition Award at 2012 Best of Nollywood Awards and won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 12th African Film Academy Awards 2016.

RMD played Kimberley’s father, along with famed comedian AY Makun and veteran actor Rans Nouah in the movie, 30 Days in Atlanta. The film premiered on October 31, 2014, and became the worst movie of all time in Nigerian cinemas in 2015. It also portrayed the groom’s father, Cheif Felix Onwuk, in the 2017 comedy-drama romantic film titled St.

RMD took a break from Nollywood from 2007 to 2013 to focus on politics. À it was after he was appointed Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State.
