Shekhinah is a South African songwriter. She is famous for her hit song “Let You Know.” Shekhinah was among the top 32 in M-Net Idol Season 7 SA in 2011 and among the top 6 in Idol Season 8 SA in 2012.

She was born on October 2, 1994, in Durban, South Africa. She is 25 years old.

Shekhinah Donnell Adopted Parent

Her biological mother left her at the hospital in KwaZulu-Natal when she was only three weeks old. Fortunately, she was adopted by the Donnell family, a white family. She has a stable relationship with her adoptive parents, Phil and Deborah Donnell.

Phil has always supported her musical career both physically and emotionally. Deborah is based in the United States and takes the time to see Shekhinah.

Shekhinah Donnell Early Life

Growing up in a different racial family was not as tricky for Shekhinah as one would expect for an average black child. She revealed during the interview that during her childhood, she never felt left out, but felt so much love.

At 17, she played in season 7 of the South African idols of M-Net. It finished among the 32 best competitors of this edition. The following year, she participated again and finished sixth.

Shekhinah said racism was the only time she had lived in 2018 when she arrived in Johannesburg. She was always surrounded by blacks who were very black, and she was not. Her experience of racism led her to believe that humanity comes first.

Golden Rose Album

Shekhinah released her first studio album titled “Rose Gold” on October 6, 2017. The South African record industry certified album gold on January 24, 2018, and on August 31, 2018, certified platinum.
