How To Prepare Eba and Served With Any Nigerian Soup

Eba is a Nigerian staple food consumed across the country and beyond. It is made from cassava flour, commonly known as Garri.

Garri is a by-product of cassava. He goes through many processes before finally becoming a Garri. But you don’t have to worry about everything. We all buy Garri in stores and Eba we make with them in just five minutes.

Most Nigerian soups are usually served with “swallows,” as we call them in Nigeria. There are only ten of them, and Eba is the most popular.

 

This article shows you how to make Garri (Eba). It usually takes less than 10 minutes.

What you need (Ingredients)

  • 4 cups of Garri (white or yellow)
  • Bowls
  • Wooden turner
  • Hot water.

Here’s what a store-bought in Garri looks like. You can buy it at any local market or Nigerian store.

How to Make Eba

  1. Boil the water and pour it into a bowl.
  2. Pour Garri over boiled water and continue until the Eba has thickened. You can add more Garri if it’s too soft or adds water if it’s too hard.
  3. Once the Eba is well stirred to excellent consistency, you can serve it with any soup.
  4. You should be able to shape it into small portions, dip it into your delicious soup and swallow it.
