Ola Dips was born Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, but he prefers to be called by his stage name. He was born on March 24, 1995, in Ogun State, a Yoruba-dominated state in southwestern Nigeria. Little is known about the Olabode family.

Ola Dips holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Jos in Plateau State.

Ola Dips is a famous rapper in the Nigerian music industry. His rap style is unique and creative. His rap career started in 2012 when he was 17, and he did a cover to Drake’s song. The cover caught the attention of many and started a new start in his life.

Later, in 2015, Ola Dips participated in the “King is Here” rap contest organized by D’banj. He won the competition and solidified his position in the Nigerian music industry. Winning the contest made him get applause from various musical icons. After winning the “King is Here” rap contest, Ola Dips began performing at musical events, gaining a fan base.

Also, his victory earned him a record with Edge Record (LRR) in 2016. Reminisce was the owner of the record label, and this was the first signing of Ola Dips. He was almost signed to Olamide’s YBNL, but Olamide said he couldn’t have Ola Dips and Chinko Ekun on the same record label because the two artists had virtually the same style of music.

Ola Dips’ talent and creativity set him apart in the music industry. He impresses his fans with each performance and every song he releases. In 2011, NaijaLoaded named Ola Dips as one of the top 5 indigenous rappers of the year. Ola Dips is not currently under any record label. In 2019, he left the LRR record label after encountering a problem with former boss Reminisce, owner of the LLR label. Ola Dips claimed that he was responsible for all of his victories, but now someone seems to have clenched his wings. He said he was being cheated in the record deal and described the deal as “fraudulent”. Ola Dips left the LRR label with N23,000 in his account.
