2Baba was born on September 18, 1975, in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. He spent the early part of his life in his hometown, Benue State.
2baba attended secondary school at Mount Saint Gabriel High School, Makurdi. After completing his secondary school studies, 2baba got admission to the Enugu State Institute of Administration and Technology, where he studied business administration and management.
After obtaining his National Diploma, 2baba decided to focus on his musical career.

2Baba has always wanted to become a musician from an early age, but he officially started while in the higher education institution.
During his time in the higher institution, he began to sing and perform at shows, parties, and other occasions.
Around 1999 to 2000, 2baba established a record label with two other artists (Blackface and Faze), and the label was called Plantashun Boiz. They had several hit songs and albums together before finally parting in 2004.
