Yemi Alade was born on March 13, 1989, to James Alade, a police commissioner and Helen Uzoma in Abia State. Her father, James, is from Ondo State, while her mother is Igbo, so Yemi Alade is a Yoruba-Igbo girl.

Yemi Alade is the fifth born out of seven children in her family. She received his early education at the St. Saviour British primary school before enrolling in Victory Grammar School in Lagos for secondary school. Alade also studied at the University of Lagos, where she also graduated in Geography.
