The 39-year-old former beauty queen, Pastor Mrs. Ibidunni Ighodalo who died on 14th June 2020, was the wife of Pastor Ituah Ighodalo of Trinity House Church and mother to Keke and Zenan Ighodalo.
Born on July 19 1980 in Kaduna as the 5th child out of 8 children to Chief Olaleye and Moyinlola Ajayi. Ibidunni Ighodalo attended K-kotun primary school Surulere, Lagos state and completed her secondary school at Federal Government Girl College, Oyo at 16.
She moved back to Lagos to do study Microbiology in University of Lagos, Akoka (Unilag), she graduated with Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology and went further to study Business Management in the Lagos Business School where she became a member of the National Institute Marketing, Nigeria.
Her brothers, in 1998 got her a form to contest for Miss Lux Beauty Pageant which she won in 1999 at the age of 18 and became popular. In 2003, Ibidunni opened her Event Management company with the brand name; Elizabeth R culled from her middle name Elizabeth and that of her father, Rufus.
Miss. Ibidunni at a marriage event she was the chief bridesmaid, met her husband Pastor Ituah Ighodalo and they got married on 16th February.
They adopted a boy and a girl, Zenan and Keke and after her struggles to conceive wasn’t successful. She was said to had went for In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) 11 times but it wasn’t successful.
After the adoption, Ibidunni opened a non-profit organization to help create awareness on infertility issues and raise funds for couples that needs to go through In-Vitro Fertilization and Intrauterine Insemination she called The Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation. She was also creating Isolation Centers within the country, before her demise.
Ibidunni Ighodalo died around 2am in a hotel in Port Harcourt where she had gone to develop her project of building Isolation Center in the city, in what was believed to be heart attack. On receiving the shock news of his wife, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo was said to have gone to officiate the funeral service of a dead member.
Tributes began flooding as her death became known. Among the well-wishers are President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, former Vice President to Obasanjo; Atiku Abubakar, Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, other state Governors, Colleagues, Pastors and medias, celebrities and families.
