Nollywood billionaire actress Genevieve Nnaji was born on May 3, 1979. She was born in Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria, to an engineer father, and her mom was a teacher.
She grew up in Lagos State and attended Methodist Girls College, Yaba. She later went to the University of Lagos to study Creative Arts.
Career
While still at the University of Lagos, she started attending auditions in Nollywood and eventually became an actress.
Before that, she had already started her career as a child actress in the popular television soap, “Ripples,” when she was only eight years old.
Genevieve’s first appearance in a Nigerian film dates back to 1998 when she was 19 years old and appeared in “Most Wanted”. She then appeared in other films such as “The Last Party”, “Ijele,” and “Mark of the Beast”. She has since starred in over 80 Nollywood films.
In 2004, Genevieve signed a recording contract with the Ghanaian label EKB Records and released her first album “One Logologo Line”. It’s a mix of hip-hop, R&B, and urban music.
