Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – £56 Million

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s move to Arsenal in the January transfer window of last year from Borussia Dortmund for £56million seats fifth on the list. Since his move, the Gabon international has been in top form for the club, winning the Premier Golden Boot in the 2018/2019 season. He scored 31 goals in all competitions in that campaign.
Riyad Mahrez – £60 Million

Riyad Mahrez was one of the prolific players in the season that Leicester city surprised England, beat all the odds and won the Premier League title. He became a wanted-by-all player, was linked with so many clubs, but after that, he finally settled for Manchester city, for a then club-record deal.
Cédric Bakambu – £65 Million

Cédric Bakambu of Villarreal moved to Beijing Guoan for £65million from in February of last year. He was the most expensive African player as of his transfer until the Arsenal went on Pepe transfer, and he has made up already for the money spent on him by the Chinese club. He scored 23 goals in all competitions in his debut season.
Nicolas Pepe – £72 Million

ARSENAL completed the surprise signing of Lille winger Nicolas Pepe making him the most expensive African player as of his transfer, picking him up for £72million. The Ivory Coast international’s performance was very high; he was the second most productive player in the Ligue 1 last season, second only to Kylian Mbappe. He managed 23 goals in all competitions, with 22 coming in the league itself.
Victor Osimhen – €81.3 million

The Nigerian forward joined the Neapolitan outfit for an initial €71.2 million. A further €10.1 million is guaranteed in add-ons, taking the overall fee to €81.3 million – as per the French newspaper L’Equipe.
It surpasses the £72 million Arsenal paid to land Nicolas Pepe, who Osimhen then replaced in Lille’s attack after the Ivorian’s big-money move to the Emirates Stadium.
He has become the most expensive African player of all time after sealing a continental record move to Napoli.
This goes on to show that African players are now finding value in the football market.
