Biography
Runtown was born on August 19, 1989, in Enugu State, Nigeria, but partly grew up in Lagos state and FCT.
He moved to Abuja with his mother, who worked at the Ministry of Health from a very young age after his father.
Personal life
Runtown used to be in a relationship with Selena Leath, whom he met in 2015. Selena is a model and actress and has appeared in several music videos. Together, they have a son, Zamar.
The duo separated, and the star musician is in another relationship with Adut Akech, a model with top fashion brands. The couple celebrated the singer’s 31st birthday on the island of Paros in Greece.
Runtown also has a cub (white lion) as a pet.
Career
His love for music dates back to his high school years. At first, he wanted to become a basketball player, but it was difficult for him to start well in this field. He had a great talent for music and actively participated in miming and singing competitions at school. On one occasion where he decided to test her abilities in the studio, he met Phyno, and the duo immediately bonded.
After hearing his vocal abilities, Phyno created a beat for him and immediately fell in love with his vocal accompaniment. Unfortunately, his progress in this line was temporarily halted after his father’s death and his mother’s interest in politics. However, that did not distract him for a long time, but soon after, he found a way to Lagos with his friend Phyno to make music.
Although RunTown started working on a musical collaboration as early as 2007, his music career didn’t begin until 2010, when he signed his first major contract with Eric Manny Entertainment.
To date, he has collaborated with several prominent Nigerian and international artists, including Wizkid, Timaya, Uhuru, Davido, J-Martins, M.I, Shizzi, WizzyPro, Phyno and DJ Khaled.
He released his hit song “Mad Over You” on November 4, 2016, and landed at No. 38 on the Billboard Twitter Top Tracks chart.
His contract with Eric Manny Entertainment expired in June 2018, after which he started his record album “Soundgod Music Group.”
