This came after the unsolved murder of a politician in Rio city and Black activist, Marielle and numerous young Blacks killed by the cops. His death was likened to that of George Floyd in Minneapolis. According to the video footage, the securities were seen lifting Joao Freitas from his feet and dropped him on the ground with while one of the guards was holding his hand, the other was repeatedly hitting him on his face. Another footage showed a security man kneeling atop Freitas in the parking lot of Carrefour supermarket. One of the security guards was a temporary military police officer. The incident according to reports happened after a misunderstanding between an employee who later summoned the security and Freitas.
