Festival de Musiques Sacrées du Monde, a 10-day celebration of world sacred music, takes place in the lovely city of Fès in the middle of the summer.

Faouzi Skali, a Moroccan philanthropist, founded it in 1994 with the goal of showcasing the variety of spiritual music from around the globe.

The festival features artists from the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Western Europe and is focused on knowledge, art, and spirituality. The festival has featured performances by Joan Baez, Patti Smith, Björk, Ben Harper, Paco de Luca, Ravi Shankar, Sabah Fakhri, Kadem Saher, Mounir Bachir, Wadi al Safi, Jean-Claude Casadesus, and a host of other artists. Additionally, it highlights lesser-known artists and their artistic endeavors.
