An annual music event takes place in Cape Town, South Africa, called the Cape Town International Jazz Festival. The first one, which took place from 2000 to 2005, has seen attendance increase from 14,000 to well over 30,000, making it the fourth-largest jazz festival in the world. On the African continent, it is the biggest jazz event.

In the jazz community, the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) is regarded as one of the most significant and influential jazz events. The International Festival is regarded as South of the Sahara Africa’s largest musical occasion. Every year, it hosts renowned local and international artists and groups as part of an international festival.

Every year, a sizable audience of jazz fans attends the concerts. The last weekend in March or the first weekend in April are often the dates for the concerts. It is advised to check hotel rates and make reservations for rooms and tickets far in advance because there will be a lot of tourists during the festival days and there will be a strong demand for accommodations.

Every jazz enthusiast’s calendar must include the Cape Town International Jazz Festival as a highlight.
