Her parents are Sara and Larry Parker, who played basketball at the University of Iowa (1970). Candace has two older brothers: Anthony Parker (former NBA basketball player) and Marcus Parker (doctor).

The family moved to Naperville, Illinois, when Candace was two years old. Her family loved basketball and supported the Chicago Bulls.
