Herbert Randal Wright III, an African America rapper, widely known by his stage name G Herbo bought his former elementary school, The Overton Elementary School, which was shut down in 2013.
The 25-year-old old Chicago rapper who was formerly known as Lil Herb brought happiness to his community. He adds another philanthropic achievement to his charity work towards restoring a non-violent society by buying his former elementary school abandoned seven years ago.
According to the rapper, he is committed to using his wealth to change his community. His goals involve turning the Overton Elementary School into a community development center where kids would find and develop their talents and stay off the streets.
The PTSD crooner, G Herbo, announced that he would be turning his former school into a development center that would see rappers, producers come to the community to teach the youths.
According to the songwriter, we revealed that he dropped out of Hyde Park High School when he was sixteen. Being a sad moment, which he wishes to have corrected, thus dedicating himself to philanthropy works.
Speaking to reporters, Herbert Wright said they’re trying to change narratives and set an example for the next generation to see that they can do better than what they’re doing. He maintained that if the community development keeps going on, there are many opportunities, and it’s limitless.
G Herbo, Joey Purple, Chance the Rapper, and Vic Mensa, all from Chicago, sponsored the Youth Peace Walk and Back-to-school occasion held from Bronzeville to the grounds of the former Overton Elementary School in which he shared over 3000 backpacks equipped with school tools.
He made available a spot for voter’s registration and set up a tent for free HIV and Covid-19 tests. He planned to equip the center to help youngsters who want to become musicians. He also planned to add free sports and programs to keep them busy and off from violence.
G Herbo, who is currently in a relationship with Taina Williams, has a son, Yosohn, with an ex-girlfriend, Ariana Fletcher.
