How To Prepare Cabbage Fufu with these Easiest Methods

If you are looking for ways to reduce your carbohydrate intake, put cabbage fufu on your hands, fufu in cabbage is a food with a little keto carbohydrate that every adult should add to their menu.

Cabbage is a good source of Vitamin K, Vitamin C, and dietary fiber. The good thing is that it can be prepared in different ways, so if you don’t like to eat it raw, you can swallow it and eat it with your favorite soups.

Ingredients for Fufu Cabbage

You can make Fufu cabbage with these two combinations of ingredients:

Cabbage Fufu Combination 1

  • 1 small cabbage
  • ½ up to 1 teaspoon psyllium shell

Cabbage Fufu Combination 2



  • 1 small cabbage
  • ¼ teaspoon of xanthan gum

Instructions For Making Cabbage Fufu

  1. Peel the outer leaves of the cabbage, rinse and chop.
  2. Mix with as little water as possible and pour in a muslin bag or gauze to remove water. I threw water because it gives the cabbage fufu some bitter taste.
  3. Put weights in the bag to speed up the process.
  4. When all the water is turned off, place the cabbage puree in a bowl over medium-high heat. Then start mixing.
  5. After warming up, check the time and continue stirring for 5 minutes.
  6. Add the psyllium shell or xanthan gum and continue stirring for another 2 minutes or until the dough forms.
  7. Wrap with plastic wrap to keep it in shape
  8. Serve fufu cabbage with any Nigerian soup for fufu dishes.
