Mayorkun discovered his musical talent at a very young age. He was part of his church choir and once said that he “learned the principles of music” around this time.
Before embarking on a professional musical career, Mayorkun previously worked as a banker. At one point, he wanted to quit his job because of music, a decision his mother vehemently opposed, a decision that banking was his calling. But his father supported the movement.
However, that all changed when the mayor’s mother learned of Davido’s invitation for her son to join his music label. She was there when Davido called him up and said, “Wow, that’s great; maybe you should try.”
